Design

Tailored Solution

Our team works to understand the complexity of your problem. We research, interview, and gather information on all aspects of your tooling need. Then we recommend the Smart Tooling product to meet your challenge and design a solution to fit your needs.

Produce

Quality Verification

Smart Tooling produces the tooling solutions to fit your specifications with quality verification at critical steps in the production process. Before shipment the complete tooling solution passes a form, fit, and leak check.

Implement

Validation and Training

Your Smart Tooling solution is delivered. Our team comes on-site to validate its ability to produce a quality part at your facility and to train your production workers in the use of the Smart Tooling solution. Our project manager is your contact for any Smart Tooling questions and customer service needs.

A Word From The CTO

"Manufacturing composites with bladders and cauls results in different challenges than that of static tooling. As with any composite, details are the key to making a good part. Proper ply schedules, noodling, noodle making, prepreg selection, corner radii, temperature/pressure ramp and soak, tool design, plumbing, tc placement, etc all have to be designed to fit the process. All of these points and more must be considered in more detail when using bladders or cauls. Smart Tooling has experience helping customers succeed with this. If a part can be made by a bladder or caul process, that process can be improved with Smart Bladders or Smart Cauls. This is because Smart Tooling’s products are riged during layup in the precise shape necessary for perfect ply placement. Smart Tooling’s products also become much softer than other bladders and cauls during cure, which allows them to transfer more force to the laminate and provides better corner consolidation."
